In Exploration: A Person Processes Gcode
2016
3D printing is a unique way of building
that elevates our crafting to new
heights. What stands out about this
methodology is the use of Gcode,
the unseen language that translates a
3D rendering to a set of instructions
for the extrusion head of the 3D printer.
By reading, editing, and visualizing
Gcode, I have investigated the ways that
a person can listen to coordinates and
extrude a structure with what is most
translatable to us: icing.
