Folded Land, a modular chaise lounger

The form of this piece is based on

the classic bean bag chair, as

interpreted through a modular lens.

One is able to arrange the chaise

lounge to their comfort needs.

The design is a metaphor for

the body’s own need to physically

connect with the earth’s soil. One

imagines altering the environment to

suit the needs of their body. It is as if

one were to scoop up the earth and

mold a piece of furniture to use. It is the

pleasure of lying in the grass, but in

one’s own home.
